I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia with an older brother, a younger sister and happily-married parents. My love for the South, my desire to stay close to family and my need for opportunity is what led me to my decision to attend Auburn University. As a senior in high school, I originally chose special education as my major. Making a difference has always been my ultimate goal, and I thought the best way to accomplish this was to work directly with those in need. I often found myself doubting this career path so I began to research people and organizations that had made a large impact on the community. I soon discovered that many corporations and agencies employ public relations professionals to oversee community giving and engagement. With the resources provided by a company and the skills to properly communicate with the public, I decided almost immediately that working as a pubic relations professional would allow me to make a greater difference and impact. Even as a public relations professional, I still have the chance to work directly with those in need. When I arrived at Auburn University, I changed my major to public relations and have since become truly passionate about the skills I am obtaining and the work I will be doing after graduation. In addition to majoring in public relations, I am minoring in both business and philanthropic studies. These two minors provide the knowledge and skills needed to work with agencies, companies and nonprofit organizations. My education at Auburn has made me a well-rounded candidate for the public-relations field. Auburn is my home away from home, and I will forever be thankful for the time I spent here. The opportunities, challenges and amazing people found at this university have shaped me into the woman I am today. Much of who I am comes from my involvement on Auburn's campus. Aside from having school spirit throughout football season, I have been involved with SGA, Spoon University, IMPACT, PRSSA and Gamma Phi Beta. I am excited for what the future holds and look forward to the experiences to come!
